HISTORY
Aderyn was raised by her mother and father, both half-elves, in a monastery of elven scholars comprising several clans. Although half-elves are allowed to be members of the community, they are regarded as second-class citizens, relegated to separate living quarters and barred from studying the monastery's most prized secrets. For this reason, Aderyn avoided socializing with her primarily full-blooded peers, keeping company instead with her younger sister and devoting herself fully to her studies.

Tradition dictates that when one reaches the age of 18, he or she must go forth into the world to find a teacher and gather knowledge to bring back, that the vast stores of knowledge gathered by their people may be replenished and thus never dry up. However, just as Aderyn was on the cusp of embarking on such a journey, a teacher instead found her. Johann Roselion, a renowned wizard of a prominent noble family, arrived at the monastery in search of a student onto whom to pass his knowledge, and although she was only a half-elf, he chose Aderyn.

She would spend the next three years under his tutelage, during which time she crossed paths with a band of adventurers who arrived in the port city of Balmorra to investigate a cult responsible for pulling demons into the material plane. At first she aided the group at the behest of her master, but eventually she would join them of her own free will, after a series of events that led to the awakening of Maximilian, the avatar of fire, and the shocking revelation that the man everyone believed to be Johann was merely a shell inhabited by an ancient demon. Having lost her teacher, she decided that the world itself would be her guide.

The first task Aderyn would see to with her new companions was the delivery of Maximilian's sword to [fuck if I remember the place's name] for the ceremony in which would be determined the true king of the country of Lodis. Parn, a childhood friend to several of her companions, would be the one to draw forth the sword's truest might and thus was deemed worthy to inherit the throne. It was then that Aderyn and her companions were inducted into the Green Vanguard, a multi-national military operation borrowing the ideals of its Second Age predecessor of the same name. The Vanguard would align itself with King Parn, who serves among its ranks as well.

Since then, Aderyn and her companions have undergone innumerable trials on behalf of the Green Vanguard, investigating the calamity of the material and infernal planes drawing closer and navigating the volatile political climate as other factions contest Parn's legitimacy on the throne. All the while, Aderyn has assiduously applied herself to the study of magic. She acquired a new mentor in an unlikely place: Azlon, an ancient sword that, once she attuned herself to it, began to communicate telepathically with her. Inside of it is trapped Xenthros, an acclaimed wizard of the Second Age, who offered to teach her the secrets of ancient elemental magic if she were willing - and of course she was.

PERSONALITY
Awkward with emotions. Cautious. Compassionate. Curious. Dedicated. Eager to learn and share knowledge. Gentle. Honest. Insightful. Loyal. Naive. Patient. Pensive. Practical. Reticent. Would rather be reading a book right now.

APPEARANCE
Aderyn is a slight woman, whose build belies the power of her magic. Her skin is pale and scattered with freckles, her eyes blue, and her hair auburn. She most often wears her hair pulled away from her face for practical reasons. Her ears are the most obvious indicator of the marriage between her elven and human blood, neither as pointed as a full-blooded elf's ears nor as rounded as a human's. Her usual garb consists of robes that gather with a belt at her waist and fall to her calves, under which she wears leggings, to allow her the greatest freedom of movement. She is rarely without the green cloak that was given to her upon induction into the Green Vanguard.
